About
Who made this
TEB RUN is made by Teb, a solo developer. One person, one coast road, a lot of sunsets tested for accuracy.

Why
Some games you remember as a feeling: low sun, open road, a timer ticking down, and a song that fits it all perfectly. TEB RUN is an attempt to bottle that feeling and put it one click away. Nothing to install, no account, no store. Open a tab and drive.
TEB were the three letters I typed into arcade high-score tables in the 80s. My teenage son grew up hearing about those cabinets, and he became TEB RUN's first play-tester: he picked the four cars from the dozens we had generated, argued for five stages per run, asked for mud and snow on the road, and kept me honest about the difficulty.

How it was made
TEB RUN was built with Claude Code, in TypeScript and Canvas 2D. There's no game engine and zero runtime dependencies. The whole game is about 240 KB of JavaScript.
The art was generated with ChatGPT's image model from written prompts, then checked by hand. The music and sound effects were written and synthesized in code. The engine sound uses two public-domain (CC0) recordings.

Rights
TEB RUN is inspired by Sega's 1986 Out Run and other 80s arcade racers; it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Sega.
Every track, car, stage and ending in TEB RUN is original. The forks in the road, the radio, the four cars and the five endings are all our own spin on the genre.
Licence
The code is released under the MIT licence and lives on GitHub. The open-source build plays with procedural art, so you can fork it, learn from it and drive it.
The art, music, the TEB RUN name and the texts are not covered by the MIT licence. All rights reserved.
